The Histrionic Academy - Boston Walking Tours!

Dear Educators:

The Histrionic Academy offers your students the perfect field trip, an experience they will remember for a lifetime and that will reinforce and bring to life what they have learned in your classroom.

The Path to Independence: Boston is a cost-effective educational walking tour along Boston’s Historic Trail, the content of which is regularly reviewed by our education director, a Massachusetts certified teacher of history. No other tour goes into as much detail about not only WHAT happened in Boston during the American Revolution, but more importantly WHY it happened. Your students will have a first-rate educational experience and will truly enjoy themselves, as our guides are historical interpreters and trained performers who interact with the audience.

Our tour is in line with the Massachusetts Frameworks concerning Boston and the American Revolution. Topics include the Stamp Act, the Townsend Act, the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, Paul Revere’s Ride, James Otis, the Writs of Assistance, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and colonial Boston. Sites visited include, but are not limited to: Boston Common, Granary Burial Ground (James Otis, Sam Adams, Boston Massacre Victims, Robert Treat Paine, Ben Franklin’s parents, John Hancock, Peter Faneuil, and Paul Revere), the Boston Massacre site, and more.

We are now scheduling school groups for Spring 2008. We can do tours any day of the week, either in the morning or afternoon. The tour runs between 90 minutes and two hours, depending on how many questions and comments the group has.

The cost for the tours is $6 per student if you take advantage of available discounts for booking early:

$6 per student if you book for any date and pay deposit by April 30th 2008

$7 per student if you book for any date and pay deposit by May 31st 2008

Regular price: $8 per student, $10 per adult, 1 FREE adult for every 10 students.

All groups get one free adult for every ten students.

Extended Tours are available at a small additional charge per student.

Minimum charge is the cost of 25 students at the applicable rate.

We believe that we are the lowest priced, highest value tour of this kind currently offered in Boston. If you feel your school needs special consideration in this area, let us know. We will try to work something out for you.
